Recently, two new foldables—Galaxy Samsung’s Z Fold4 and Xiaomi’s MIX Fold 2—have hit the market. Unlike Samsung, which will release the Galaxy Z Fold worldwide, Xiaomi has only released the MIX Fold 2 in China. Whether or whether the phone will be available for purchase outside the company’s native market is still up in the air. When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 14.2mm in thickness, while the MIX Fold 2 is just 11.2mm. The MIX Fold 2 also has a somewhat larger height and width than its predecessor, although it is about the same weight.
The Galaxy Fold4 includes a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and HDR10+ compatibility on the inside, and a 6.2-inch HD+ AMOLED display on the outside.
The exterior display of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is 6.56 inches in size and offers Full HD+ quality, 120 frames per second (Hz), HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Within the MIX Fold 2 is an 8.02-inch OLED LTPO 2.0 screen that supports 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.
On the outside of both phones is a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus, while on the inside is a layer of Schott ultra thin glass.

Both foldables are powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. In addition, each supports up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of native storage.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 is powered by a 4400mAh battery, while the MIX Fold 2 has a slightly larger 4500mAh one. While the MIX Fold 2 supports fast charging at up to 67W, the Galaxy Z Fold4’s maximum charging power is just 25W.
Unlike the MIUI 13 on Android 12 that powers the MIX Fold 2, OneUI 4.1.1 comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Z Fold3. Both companies aim to differentiate their folding displays with added functions, but Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4 has superior software optimization.

The fourth-generation Samsung foldable has improved optics over its predecessors, with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. In addition to its 50MP primary camera, the MIX Fold2 has a 13MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto lens.

With identical features, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is much less expensive. Samsung’s latest foldable, the Galaxy Fold 4G, is a significant improvement over its predecessors.
