BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 will showcase an aggressive new design language.
Mahindra has finally shown off five of its much-awaited all-electric sport utility vehicles. Five new electric vehicles (EVs) based on the company’s INGLO EV skateboard platform will be offered under two new labels, XUV.e and BE.
There will be two XUV.e models (the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9) and three SUVs (the BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09) in the BE lineup for the time being. First to hit the market will be the XUV.e series, with the XUV.e8 debuting in December 2024; the first BE model will hit showroom floors the following year, in October 2025.
Mahindra BE.05
BE.05 coupe-SUV manufacturing begins in October 2025. The BE.05, a Sports Electric Vehicle, has sharp C-shaped headlamps and massive airdams. The front design comprises sharp cuts, folds, and a conspicuous air-duct.
The BE.05’s interior is clearly designed around the driver, with the centre console serving as a divider between the cockpit and the passenger compartment. Highlights of the cabin include two huge touchscreen displays and a conventional steering wheel with only two spokes. It also has a big gear selector and a rotary control for the gear lever.
Mahindra has disclosed the length, breadth, and height of each of its models, and the BE.05 measures 4,370mm, 1,900mm, and 1,635mm, respectively. It had a 2,775mm wheelbase. With a length of more than four metres, Mahindra’s next EV will likely slot above the XUV400 and compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv (of which a commercial version is scheduled for 2024).
Mahindra BE.07
The Mahindra BE.07 SUV will go into production in October of 2026. The BE.07 is more conventionally SUV-shaped than the coupe-SUV BE.05. The C-shaped front and rear lights remain, albeit they are less angular than the BE’s 05 version. The BE.07 isn’t as as daring as the BE.05 from the side, but it keeps some of the BE.05’s hallmarks, such as its broad wheel arches and flush door handles.
It is somewhat bigger than the BE.05, measuring 4,565 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,775 mm. Given that it is a midsize SUV, it will be priced between the current Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV700.
Mahindra BE.09
The BE.09 is Mahindra’s last-ever reveal, and it’s a coupe-SUV like the BE.05. Mahindra, on the other hand, has not disclosed the BE.09 concept’s dimensions or expected timetable. The BE.09 seems to be the coupe variant of the BE.07 and will thus be the flagship model in the BE family. When compared to the BE.05, it shares the BE.07’s more upright front appearance and more pronounced coupe-like sloping roofline. According to Mahindra, the BE.09 would have room for four people.
