Hyundai Venue sales rose in July 2022, but Toyota Urban Cruiser topped the charts.
Some of the best-selling small SUVs had sales gain year over year in July 2022, while others saw sales decline. While this was happening, though, there were some exciting shifts at the very top of the list.
Once again, the Tata Nexon outsold every other small SUV in India. Actually, it was the best-selling sport utility vehicle in the whole nation. Its sales of 14,214 copies represent a year-over-year increase of 38%. The great variety of available solutions is largely responsible for the booming business.
Hyundai Venue has, surprisingly, risen to second place, passing Tata Punch in the process. Over the last year, sales have skyrocketed by 47 percent, to 12,000 units. As a close second, Punch sold over 11,000 copies.
As a result, the once-dominant Maruti Suzuki Brezza is now just the fourth best-selling car in India, and its sales have drastically dropped. The situation is likely to improve, though, during the next several months.

10 | Renault | Kiger | 2597 | 3557 | -27% |
Kia Sonet’s decline is 6%. Toyota Urban Cruiser, which sold 6724 units, grew 175%. Seventh-place Mahindra XUV300 virtually matched last year’s sales.
Mahindra Thar was ninth, selling 3616 units, up 13%. Thar has long wait times like other Mahindra goods. Mahindra’s SUV can do better if it fixes this.
Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger finished last. Both have double-digit declines.
