India’s ace Test hitter Cheteshwar Pujara performed an incredible innings for Sussex on Friday. Pujara, known for his superior defensive qualities, smashed 107 off 79 balls against Warwickshire. Sussex lost the match narrowly, but Pujara blasted Liam Norwell for 26 runs in an over.
Pujara discussed his Sussex innings in a YouTube interview. He is used to playing in intense temperatures in India, but he felt “pukish” during his century against Warwickshire.
“I was drinking water in between. I once felt pukish due to Weather, I think. But it’s never enough. Pujara said, “I tried.”
“It was a great one-day innings.” It would have been better for the winning cause. We weren’t far, I wanted to be there till the last ball but we could win,” he said.
Pujara hit seven fours and two sixes. Oliver Hannon-Dalby dismissed him with the first ball of the 49th over as Sussex fell just short by four runs.
